Job Title – Competitor Insight Manager

Location – UK (Corby or London)/France/Italy/Germany/Spain

 

As the Competitor Insight Manager, you will interpret, and disseminate market intelligence and tie this together with other insight feeds (e.g. primary research and data analytics) to signpost the future of our business. The jobholder will actively participate in the delivery strategic projects, supporting teams with related data and insight. You will play a key role in clearly painting a picture of the global market and competitive landscape we operate in, through delivering a clear view on competitor activity, macroeconomic conditions and supplier and external trends the holder will use this information to inform both strategic, M&A and tactical activities across EMEA and with wider Electros portfolio.

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role

 

Conducting independent desk research, using both internal and external sources. Collates and turns this data into a series of reports and dashboards that can be disseminated into the business.

 

Supporting in the management of the M&A pipeline, profiling potential targets, helping to support business cases and pro-actively identifies potential targets that meet the group strategy.

 

Pro-actively builds and develops a strong network across the business to collect and share external market data.

 

Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis and assists with the development of recommendations.

 

Supporting projects and takes responsibility for creating sections of presentations and other deliverables.

 

Proactively developing knowledge of key topics (e.g. competitors, trend themes, industries), identifies and monitors trends, and creates related profiles and uses this information to information to inform and shape future strategy.

 

Pro-actively sources new value-added information from new resources that answers business questions and identifies both new commercial opportunities and challenges.

 

Working closely with the Corporate Development and Investor Relations team in the provision of insight to help manage investors and develop our corporate strategy.

 

Monitoring insight channels, both directly and indirectly, collaborating with other insight teams across the business and flags changing trends for further strategic analysis.

 

What you will need to be successful in this position:
 

  • Educated to degree level and relevant professional qualifications
  • Strong technical experience across all aspects of the role including competitor intelligence, macroeconomics, market sizing alongside an appreciation of market research techniques and scenario modelling.
  • Excellent IT literacy (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Sound commercial awareness and business acumen with high level accounting understanding (e.g. reading a P&L, financial ratios)
  • Distinctive conceptual abilities and creativity in structuring and solving strategic problems
  • Strong ability to articulate results and ideas in a concise manner using a variety of media and formats, be persuasive and convincing in front of a challenging audience
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and capacity to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and manage a diverse workload
  • Ability to think strategically about the implications of work.
  • Able to motivate themselves and others using a collaborative approach
  • Enthusiastic to work with a diverse range of teams and to learn and develop
  • Very strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and an ability to build credibility with internal and external individuals
  • Culturally sensitive with the ability to operate effectively in a global role
