Global Parcel Manager

Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain Optimisation, the role of Global Parcel Manager is to manage the outbound parcels from our distribution centres directly to our customers. This is across both domestic deliveries and direct cross-border fulfilled parcels to customers. You ensure we deliver parcels to our customers in line with the promise we make, working closely with our logistics service providers to ensure they meet their commitments.

 

What You Will Do

  • Manage UK outbound parcel movements.  Domestic parcels and parcels going from the UK distribution centres directly to customers in other markets and oversee outbound parcel movements from other distribution centres in the group.
  • Agrees the transport element of the promise we make to customers for parcel delivery which is displayed to customers when placing orders.
  • Take ownership for increasing the key metrics on delivery to the end customers, including improving the NPS score.
  • Continually understand the customer perception, reviewing Voice of Customer, and working with the key market stakeholders in the sales team and RS Local teams to improve customer perception
  • Monitors our logistics service provider performance, identifying problem areas which need to be addressed before major issues arise.
  • Drive cost and carbon reduction opportunity for UK transport through working with Process improvement specialist and working directly with the logistics service providers
  • Directly manage the spend associated with the UK parcels.
  • Drive the transport operations elements of the monthly and quarterly business reviews with logistics service providers.
  • Own the relationships with customer services – being a point of escalation for the customer services teams when significant issues are identified with parcel movements and with Operations.
  • Identify any “major incidents” relating to freight movements to the broader Transport Team and takes the lead to solve the problem as the incident manager within RS

 

What Will You Bring To the Role

  • Experience of logistics in an e-commerce environment
  • Experience of working in a transport role, managing multiple third-party providers, and driving service and cost opportunities
  • Hands-on experience of working in supply chain
  • Budget management
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be a proven leader with a track record of team leadership, both direct and remotely based.
  • Strong stakeholder management at all levels, and ability to influence through positive relationship building.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and organised. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise workloads, multi-task, and act on own initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

 

This role has been classed as a Hybrid role, which will allow you to remotely as well as attending our Corby Office on occasion.
