About the role

 

Following a period of change and the development and creation of the COO organisation and Marketing function the role has been created to become a collaborative and energised part of our marketing community.

 

Our Marketing and Commercial Insight community need to drive customer demand and lead the coordination or our brand and customer plans across Marketing, P&SM and Sales

We will drive out inefficiency and cost to invest in leadership, skills and capability to drive best practice end-to-end integrated planning and commercial programs.

 

Within the Commercial Insight team itself our purpose is to ensure the commercial business has the models, insight and measurement to make well-informed, data-led decisions that help accelerate growth and deliver against its strategic goals.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Act as the lead subject matter expert and point of contact for trading operations and commercial optimisation teams. Must have extensive knowledge of the RS digital journey, Marketing, and commercial awareness how RS operates including price & inventory.
  • Own the relationship between the Trading and Commercial Optimisation and Insight teams, with a special focus on trading insights (marketing, digital, pricing, inventory) as well as Commercial Optimisation.
  • Ensure the Commercial Optimisation has measurement in place to robustly understand the test performance and success.
  • Take active responsibility for the delivery of key analytical projects for trading and commercial optimisation teams.
  • Own the Marketing attribution model and become project owner of all future testing.
  • Use data and wider commercial knowledge to support and challenge the commercial Optimisation team around their decision making and development pipeline.
  • Manage the Adobe Analytics and AAM technology, ensuring both are accurate.
  • Leverage regular reporting to identify areas requiring further analysis, conduct and deliver this insight to identify and inform commercial activities.
  • Form part of a high performing management team within the Commercial Insight Team, working together to optimise the outputs from a pool of analysts that support the wider Commercial Organisation.
  • Support the development and outputs of your direct reports.

 

What we’re looking for

 

  • Experience using Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets together using a visualisation tool such as PowerBi, Tableau
  • Experience using omni-channel, multi-touch attribution
  • Experience with Customer Life Cycle Management
  • Strong problem-solving skill set and commercially astute
  • Excellent communication skills, you’ll be comfortable presenting to large groups at all levels within the organisation, up to Board Level.
  • Experience of having worked in a Digital orientated business
  • Ability to multi-task across numerous projects.
