Job Title – Planning Manager

As the Planning Manager, you will be accountable for leading the development and delivery of the Integrated Marketing Planning (IMP) process; working with senior marketing leaders in the local markets and key function areas from around the business. You will be accountable for identifying where we can align across markets to ensure we’re being efficient and effective. You will drive and facilitate the discussions to support the development and review stages of the IMP. This role is fundamental to ensuring the IMP delivers best practice marketing, whilst making sure needs of our customers, our suppliers and our business aspirations are at the heart of our decision process.

What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role


  • Development and delivery of the IMP process; working with senior stakeholders from Group marketing, Local marketing and business functions which have been identified as being integral to our marketing planning.
  • Manage and coordinate the process for identifying, scoping, developing and briefing of group initiatives and programmes which align to the strategy and deliver commercial benefit for the business.
  • Proactively engage all relevant areas of the business on timelines, milestones and initiatives to ensure their plans are considered and integrated into the IMP; ensuring the commercial programmes capitalise on opportunities and developments from around the business.
  • Accountable for the on-going development and governance of the IMP process; utilising CI methodology to iterate and optimise.
  • Responsible for ensuring a standardised measurement framework is in place and agreed with key stakeholders. 
  • Ensuring all activity is measured against the framework and reviewed to provide insight which is used to drive optimisation of the IMP to deliver KPIs and maximum ROI.
  • Manage the IMP, timelines, ways of working and status reports, ensuring they are updated and communicated and that all key stakeholders are aligned.
  • Organise the process for identification, development and briefing of group commercial programmes.
  • Accountable for highlighting risks and dependencies within the IMP process.


What you will need to be successful in this position:

  • Worked in a multi-national matrix organisation marketing community
  • Project and programme management experience
  • A strong team player with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal colleagues and clients
  • Highly flexible with the ability to multi-task and manage an extensive 'to-do' list
  • Commercially minded and highly numerate, with a strong attention to detail and concern for high quality work
  • A creative thinker, confident enough to suggest and put-forward new ideas and thinking
  • Hands on digital and performance marketing experience would be an advantage
  • Broad marketing experience across Social, Comms, PR, Product and Content Marketing and campaign management would be an advantage
