The Development Specialist is responsible for enabling business growth and a high-performing organizational culture by implementing end-to-end talent programs and initiatives that grow and retain a diverse pipeline of top talent.  This position will work closely with the Training and Development Manager to design and execute talent development programs that foster an environment of continuous learning, growth mindset, and career development. This role reports to the Training and Development Manager and is part of the warehouse operations leadership team. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop learning programs using a variety of adult learning methods to ensure learning outcomes are achieved. Draw upon a wide variety of techniques to ensure engagement, knowledge transfer, skill development as well as efficient and fun learning. 
  • Responsible for measuring, evaluating, and analyzing feedback of participants and adjusting materials and methods as appropriate.
  • Promote an open and supportive learning environment that fosters knowledge transfer, hands on application and the sustainability of knowledge and skills. 
  • Identify development needs and effectively schedule and coordinate classes and programs to drive engagement and performance. 
  • Assist in creating effective development plans for high potential associates to promote career development. 
  • Design and implement training initiatives and processes to close hard and soft skill gaps.



  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
  • Knowledge of adult-learning methodologies, processes, and techniques
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Intermediate in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a climate-controlled warehouse environment standing for up to 8 hours
