Responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization by creating, improving and executing sales tools, processes and programs. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this position will work closely with the Sales team including Director, Manager and Individual contributors.  This role will also have significant interaction with various departments throughout the company including Finance, People, Product, Marketing and Operations.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management – Lead and manage a group of individuals within the Sales Effectiveness team to create, plan and execute a number of routine and project-based work that ultimately improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sales team and overall business.
  • Sales Methodology and Methodology – Work with appropriate leadership to define and develop Allied’s sales methodology, including overall strategy and approach. Plan, organize and track activities and processes required to support the methodology.
  • Sales Tools – Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program and all associated sales and AI-based tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness through the organization.  This includes ensuring robust adoption by the sales team. 
  • Data Analytics and Reporting – Define measurements, analytics and reporting tools/resources that deliver actionable information to the Sales team.  Resources must be easy to use, have high visibility and provide value by allowing the team to deliver results (ex: win more job, increase margins, prevent customer churn, etc.).
  • Sales Targets and Compensation – Identify appropriate sales force team and individual salesperson targets to allow the organization to meet business objectives in revenue, margins, customer acquisition, etc.  Manage the compensation program ensuring sellers have visibility to their performance and receive accurate payment per their results.
  • Talent Development and Training – Create talent development and training programs that ensure the Sales team has the necessary knowledge and demonstrated skill sets to deliver goals and objectives.  This includes ensuring all sales representatives are highly competent and confident in Allied’s value proposition, go-to-market strategy, pricing methodology, sales cycle, customer personas, sales tool usage, etc.
  • Strategic Planning – Working with the Sales Leadership team, help prepare information and analysis to allow for strategic planning and the execution of various initiatives key to business success.  Must help direct these change management programs.
  • Sales Executive Leadership Team – Serve as a member of the Sales Executive Leadership Team, providing information, insight and recommendations for their area of responsibility along with the broader sales function.  Must relentlessly pursue best practices and increased knowledge to help advance the professionalism and effectiveness of the entire sales group. 


Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Demonstrated history of developing sales-related tools that improve performance and effectiveness, including a deep understanding of a productive sales process and CRM systems 
  • Demonstrated ability to define the competitive strategy by understanding the various markets, competitors, and what it takes to win business
  • Significant experience of implementing new projects which contribute to measured improvements in sales performance or business efficiency
  • Proven track record of ability to lead team(s) through change management, effectively working with key stakeholders to support change initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Demonstrated capability of strategic thinking and ability to drive excellence performance through execution
  • Financial acumen, with strong understanding of sales analytics/insights and compensation and incentives programs  
  • Driven, self-starter who can set strategy and carry out execution of deliverables, making good, timely complex decisions to keep the organization moving forward
  • Ability to consistently achieve results, holding self and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Proven effective oral and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding of SAP a plus, but not essential


Education and/or Experience

  • Requires 8-10 years of experience in a high-volume sales organization.  Ideal candidate will have both Sales and Sales Operations/Effectiveness experience.  Preference given for a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business or a related field.  
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
