ESG Reporting and Engagement Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to lead global Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting and engagement for the Electrocomponents’ Group – parent company of RS Components.

 

This role will be a hybrid role, combining working remotely with attending our London office when required.

We are now looking for an experienced ESG Reporting and Engagement Lead to define and execute Electrocomponents’ ambition to deliver world-class ESG reporting, ratings and stakeholder engagement.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Own the ESG reporting programme, including leading the creation of assets and working with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and compelling content is communicated during the annual reporting cycle. Key assets include: Group ESG report, ESG section of the annual report, ESG investor presentation, TCFD disclosure, ESG website. ESG data centre
  • Ensure adherence to global ESG reporting standards, and prepare integrated or standalone reporting for: GRI, SASB, GHG protocol, UN SDGs, TCFD, SBTi, UN Global Compact and EU Taxonomy
  • Lead the Group ESG scorecard to ensure effective performance monitoring and external reporting. Lead a project to scope and execute a global ESG reporting database for the future.
  • Lead external assurance and sustainability linked-loan process for key ESG metrics
  • Craft and implement our ESG ratings and disclosures approach, further improving our upper tier ratings results with MSCI, Sustainalytics, EcoVadis, CDP etc.
  • Conduct annual benchmarking for ESG reporting standards and competitor ESG performance to ensure best practice.
  • Co-ordinate proactive engagement and reactive responses to investor, customer and supplier ESG questionnaires and enquiries
  • Lead the materiality process, consulting a wide breadth of stakeholders and prioritising ESG issues every two years (next assessment due in 2022).
  • Support Group communication, marketing, investor relations, customer and supplier teams to build high-impact assets and reports that highlight ESG progress and initiatives.

 

What you will bring to this role

  • Deep experience of working in the field of sustainability, ESG reporting and assurance.
  • Proven track record within Sustainability Reporting frameworks and ESG indices (GRI, SASB, UN SDGs, UNGC, TCFD, EcoVadis, MSCI, Sustainalytics, FTSE4Good.
  • Previously led external assurance of ESG metrics.
  • Excellent analytical and data skills with high attention to detail. Highly structured, thoughtful individual with ability to deliver accurately and timely.
  • Able to distil sophisticated ESG content or data into easily understood concepts and impactful stakeholder engagement material.
  • An ESG subject matter expert, confident to engage with stakeholders on sustainability, inclusion and responsible business topics.
  • Externally focused on the latest ESG reporting trends, new regulations and frameworks and competitor analysis
