Inventory Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:   

This function serves as on-site labor in the logistics area of the storeroom; including receiving, stocking, issuing, inventory accuracy, cycle counting, client interface, customer service and computer transaction entry.  The focus of this position is to service the client with their parts and inventory needs including: receiving stock, issuing materials, locating and verifying inventory by utilizing all resources necessary to perform this function.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all site Safety and Security Procedures; perform all assignments and tasks in a safe manner.
  • Maintain close communication with supervisor regarding all customer issues and concerns
  • Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers and escalate concerns to Synovos management
  • Ensure compliance with established internal and external Operating and Safety procedures.
  • Unpack purchased material verify product against packing slip and PO; enter receiving and inventory information into the appropriate software system or systems;
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Issue materials to client recording data in system; pulling, staging and kitting material as required.
  • Put material away after receipt in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas following labeling and/or tagging processes.
  • Issue returns for unused material per SOP guidelines
  • Prepare return material to vendor or shipping parts out for repair, as requested following SOP guidelines.
  • Perform cycle counts and report stock balance discrepancies to Manager/Buyer for resolution.
  • Verify on-hand inventory quantities to accurately identify reorder needs on every item
  • Locate stock and deliver items to their destination outside of storeroom upon request or per Kanban
  • Maintenance of locations; replacing barcodes and processing relocations in systems.
  • Clean and organize storeroom as directed, including sweeping, scraping, etc.
  • Support corporate initiatives and assist with any special projects assignments

 

 

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic math skills
  • Valid driver’s license

                                                                 

 

EXPERIENCE& QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in part identification.
  • 0-2 years professional work experience
  • PC Based Windows Operating System computer experience, and ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in new software systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Frequent walking and standing (over 50%).
  • Frequently carrying 25 pounds and under (50%) and occasionally carrying 25-40 pounds (10-25%).
  • Often sitting in front of a computer screen and using keyboard and mouse or fine hand movements (25-50%).
  • Often required to answer and use phones (25-50%)
  • Often climbing stairs (25-50%)
  • Frequently lifting (over 50%) 25 pounds or less and often lifting 25-40 pounds (25-50%)
  • Occasionally utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material within the storage facility in excess of 40 lbs. (10-25%)
  • Often using hands to write, type on computer keyboard and use mouse and working in front of computer screen (25-50%)
  • Often reaching, bending, stooping, and twisting to handle inventory (25-50%)
  • Occasionally working with arms above shoulder level and reaching (10-25%)
  • Shift work as required by position; ability to work overtime as needed
  • Assist in scheduling for Attendant staff; provide vacation and/or sick coverage as needed.
