Product & Supplier Manager – Automation & Control

Reporting to the Head of Product & Supplier Management for Italy, the successful candidate will constitute an important part of the market intelligence of the group category team providing market trends and insights as well as customer needs/insights/feedback. He will be part of a virtual EMEA team to ensure alignment and maximization of supplier value extraction supported by procurement and governance.

The Product & Supplier Manager will be able to visit some customers, however his main task will be to meet suppliers and develop the partnership, the relationship in order to become first choice of his strategic suppliers.


What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role 


  • Developing and executing supplier business plans in line with the agreed common EMEA category strategy
  • Managing supplier value extraction (rebate, funding, incoterm, buyback etc.)
  • Executing local sourcing within agreed corridor of terms
  • Communicating across all levels of the suppliers’ organisations
  • Managing supplier expectations in line with our objectives and category strategy
  • Securing Minimum Viable Content (MVC) product and transactional content onto content aggregator as basis for all NPIs
  • Ensuring successful NPI delivery and performance by supplier following the supplier segmentation
  • Collaborating across the EMEA product teams and achieving of suppliers KPI’s
  • Updating information on the SRM (supplier contacts, meeting notes, contractual terms, market share etc.)
  • Developing a marketing plan and ensure its delivery & invoicing

  • Successful track record in supplier/account management or related discipline within fast moving, customer driven markets
  • Business planning and execution capability
  • Successful supplier relationship management
  • Ability to work cross functional as well as cross cultural as part of a wider global team
  • Excellent understanding of, and the ability to articulate, the RS Value Proposition
  • Strong commercial acumen and broad communication skills
  • Education to degree-level or equivalent
  • Positive can-do attitude, takes ownership and very results oriented
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced environment
  • Understanding of marketing, purchasing and inventory control
  • Operational problem solving and good process management capability
  • Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken
