Role Purpose

This role is accountable for the overall management of the GRC services as operated across the EMEA and APAC region in relation to our SAP estate. These services focus on the policies, processes and controls designed to ensure licence compliance and user profile governance.


Key accountabilities

  • Management of a portfolio of application services such as but not limited to monitoring, maintenance and incident and problem resolution for any issue across these services with the application support partner.
  • Maintenance of the policies, standards and processes needed to support the Application services and working with security to agree changes for these. 
  • Ensure IT Operations has the correct model in place to deliver the necessary Application services to the business by being empowered to influence the model design.
  • Support the resolution of incidents with the other IT operations teams for the Application services managed by the Application support partner.
  • Vendor management of our application support partner including ensuring that regular monthly, quarterly and annual service reviews are conducted in accordance with the company’s supplier relationship management framework.   This includes the management and development of the vendor relationship management process.
  • Reporting availability and performance of the Application services against service levels to the stakeholders on a regular basis with our wider IT Operations Service Management team, in line with the standard RS processes.
  • Accountable for the relevant security and other vulnerability patching planning and requirements for the Application services supported by the Application support partner relevant to the SME specialism.
  • Manage the compliance of the licence agreement entitlement, usage and renewal for all in-scope services.  Working with the vendor partners to ensure ongoing compliance at all times by the effective review and rationalisation of licences and providing relevant input to ensure the timely approval and renewal.
  • Work with the Head of Application Support to ensure budget management of the operating costs for Application services.
  • Accountable for the financial management and controls for the relevant contract costs including invoice approvals, and the identification and delivery of any appropriate service credits as based on service performance.
  • Management of configuration database and information for our application services relevant to the SME specialism.


What you’ll need to succeed

  • Thorough and detailed understanding of SAP GRC activities related to the key applications.
  • Excellent understanding of managing user access including Segregation of Duties processes and policies in an SAP environment.
  • Experience of working with an off / near shore support model, and of managing and collaborating with outsourced third-party suppliers of SAP GRC related services.
  • Excellent vendor management capabilities including extensive experience of deploying and managing suppliers within a formal supplier relationship management model. This includes the ability to define and manage suppliers to contractual obligations and SLAs.
  • Proven experience of managing internal and external audit activities and driving resulting actions to an appropriate conclusion in a timely manner.
  • Experience of dealing with internal / external customers, vendors, suppliers and key stakeholders in a controlled SAP GRC environment.
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate with people at all levels, internally and externally, and to understand complex scenarios and communicate them to key stakeholder clearly and with confidence.
  • A strong understanding or organisation design and operation, and its impact on GRC activities and compliance conflicts.
  • Strong decision-making skills especially under high pressure situations such as incidents.
