What You Will Do

 

Van Fleet Management

  • Day to Day Management of van service which provides a twice daily delivery service to customers in the Dublin area
  • Lead and manage the van delivery team including the creation of staff training & development plans in accordance with the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Maximise efficiencies in route planning
  • Ensure delivery KPI’s are met for the van service
  • Measure and monitor van costs

 

Warehouse Management

  • Manage the daily operational requirements of the warehouse covering all inbound activities ensuring all procedures are implemented and working efficiently & effectively.
  • Lead and manage the Inbound warehouse team including creation of staff training & development plans in accordance to the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Deploy, monitor and support direct reports, ensuring that a high standard and quality of work is maintained.
  • Forecast departmental workload and agree planned resource levels accordingly with a specific focus on key personnel at critical times.
  • Ensure that a satisfactory workflow and work rate is maintained throughout the working day and that all productivity targets along with service level agreements for Trade Counter orders, Van deliveries, Couriers and other time critical deadlines are reached.
  • Proactively monitor accuracy and investigate any issues or errors in a timely manner. Take control of any process changes that may be needed as a result of errors.
  • Apply best practice stock management techniques, including timely and regular stock-taking, critical stock recording and rotation, location planning and stock cleansing such as returns to suppliers and management of discontinuations.
  • Maintain stock integrity and stock counting to ensure all inventory control measures are maintained.
  • Manage returnable and reusable packaging in accordance with company policy / best practice while monitoring and ordering packaging requirements as needed.
  • Maintain, monitor and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the warehouse.
  • Manage the appraisal process for all team members in line with the company schedule.
  • Support internal customers e.g. liaising with team leaders and managers along with maintaining staff motivational levels and good staff relations.
  • Regularly update the Warehouse Manager on items related to performance of the warehouse.
  • Be responsible for the security of company premises and its assets including stock.
  • Manage adherence to Health and Safety policies within the team and ensure the work environment does not pose any Health & Safety risks to employees, visitors or on-site contractors.
  • Be the responsible Fire warden in the warehouse and a Deputy Fire evacuation manager.

 

What Will You Bring To the Role

 

  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with SAP is a distinct advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain tasks in an efficient and effective way to different levels within the organisation in various formats
  • Time management and planning skills with a proven ability to work well under pressure
  • Results orientated
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills
  • Forklift and manual handling training an advantage
