About Allied Electronics & Automation

We are the first-choice provider of automation and control products to industrial OEM’s across the Americas. We provide a leading digital experience, the best product portfolio in automation and control, and a strong sales team that provides the human touch.

Our organization is small enough that you have a chance to make a difference in the lives of our customers, but big enough that we have some of the best tools and resources available. We feature a casual atmosphere where you can wear jeans every day and work with other high-performance colleagues to deliver the best possible experience to our customers.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who is passionate about helping an organization develop and deliver software in an agile fashion using continuous integration and delivery. You should be well versed in the core concepts of DevOps including automated testing, infrastructure as code, automated deployment pipelines and production like test environments.

A successful candidate will enable us to accelerate our ability to deliver high quality, working software to our customers, deploying releases into production multiple times per day. Mentoring and helping our Scrum teams will be a primary focus, with the goal of embedding the ways of DevOps within the teams themselves, empowering them to make decisions on their own, with a firm understanding of DevOps best practices.

  • Work with the teams to streamline and automate the delivery pipeline, allowing developers to continuously integrate and deploy their code within the bounds of the “coffee rule”
  • Collaborate with Scrum teams and our IS team to develop fast feedback loops to help the team understand the performance of their applications in real time
  • Owns the application performance monitoring solution and works with the teams to embed the tool into their daily work routine to evaluate application performance in real time
  • Develop and manage the artifact repository
  • Work with the teams to develop tools and processes necessary to accelerate our flow of work, remove constraints and operate according to a lean approach
  • Evaluates and implements best practices for migrating and deploying workloads to different environments, including on-prem, virtualized and cloud-based solutions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related area.

  • 3+ years of AWS experience (or comparable Azure/GC experience).
    • Experience with AWS network side will be a big plus.
    • AWS Architecture/Developer certifications will be a big plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in a high transaction ecommerce environment
  • 3+ years of experience in an environment that has been using DevOps and Agile/Scrum
  • Strong understanding of continuous delivery tools including Azure DevOps Server, GitHub, GitLab, Selenium (or similar)
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based deployments including infrastructure as code (Terraform) and microservices.
  • Experience with high end application performance monitoring solutions (APM) such as Dynatrace or Datadog
  • Strong communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work remote.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of groups, including executive management
  • Strong research and analytical skills
