Objectives of this Role

The People Advisor will deliver high quality, consistent and clear Employee Relations advice, support and coaching to managers and employees on the application of company policies and processes.

 

  • Coach line managers in dealing with employee relations situations and applying Allied’s policies and processes consistently, resulting in improved understanding and ability to prevent and /or manage future issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings to promote and communicate People initiatives and practices to the teams you represent.
  • Promote employee engagement by partnering with Managers and Supervisors in delivering employee engagement scores to the teams you represent. In addition, work with these teams to support action planning to improve engagement.
  • Share knowledge with other members of the People Team to ensure a consistency of approach and application to policies and advice.
  • Ensure knowledge of Employee Relations policies, practices and tools is up to date.
  • Review the department hiring processes to ensure all EEO legislation is met and assist with EEO reporting requirements.
  • Assists with compliance of all employment related laws and regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between employer and employee, overseeing employee relation issues.
  • Fosters communications by partnering with management to send clear and consistent messages to the employee populations.
  • Works with departments to promote and educate managers and employees on People practices.
  • Effectively process complaints regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Will promote well-being initiatives to assist employees with their physical and mental health.
  • Promotes Allied Electronics and Automation as an employer of choice in the local communities that Allied serves.
  • Assist with organizing employer branding initiatives.
  • Maintains working knowledge of HR systems (i.e., payroll, timekeeping, learning management)
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons for separation.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Understands general legislation and how it impacts company functions and decisions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Requires 3 – 5 years of related experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Business or related field
  • PHR or SHRM certification desired
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems
