This position is member of the Information Services team at Allied Electronics and reports to Director Business Intelligence and Process Automation. Allied is an SAP shop, encompassing the ECC 6.0 modules SD, MM, LE, FICO, CRM, BW/BOBJ, Data Services and PI.

The Lead Applications Developer will develop, maintain a portfolio of SSIS packages and process automation scripts. The developer will work with the business users to gather requirements, build ETL scripts and automation scripts according to the defined standards.


Key Accountabilities

  • Serves as lead in designing and developing ETL code for building efficient data transformations.
  • Responsible for leading strategic design and maintenance of SSIS packages and automation objects.
  • Serves as a source of knowledge and helps with coaching, recruiting and training in the area of ETL/SSIS and automation.
  • Build automation scripts using Help Systems Automate tool or UiPath.
  • Design and develop the complex ETL packages using full/incremental load strategy.
  • Expertise in T-SQL, store procedures, triggers, views, functions and automating business processes.
  • Lead efforts to define and implement ETL architecture.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to package debugging, performance and configuration.
  • Responsible for the different facets of the ETL development process including: analysis, design, programming,  testing and deployment
  • Automate data extractions and loads using batches or PowerShell scripts
  • Understands and builds SSIS packages between SAP and non-SAP sources.
  • Optimize SQL queries and fine tune SSIS jobs.
  • Contributes to problem solving, re-thinking and challenging current processes, and driving a fast paced/accurate decision and action-orientated culture.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn new tools and technologies.


Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 7–10 years’ experience working with SSIS and other ETL systems.
  • 2 – 5 years’ experience working with a Business Process Automation toolset.
  • Exposure to Help Systems Automate is a plus
  • Experience building ETL using SAP Data Services is a plus.
  • Understanding of SAP data model is a plus.
  • Ability to understand business reporting requirements, create technical designs and implement effective ETL solutions
  • Ability to understand, write and troubleshoot automation scripts
  • Good understanding of Power BI.
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with Technology Team and business colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.
