Senior Accountant, DACH

We´re currently looking for an experienced Accountant for the DACH region. In this role you will be responsible for the correct reflection of the legal entity’s performance within the DACH market, within the group accounting, the statutory accounting as well as the tax books. You will rely on the services provided by the Group Shared Business Services teams (GSBS) but will have to ensure that local specifics are met. You will act as the main contact for external authorities, auditors, and advisors within the market. You will be also part of the international finance team with close ties to the headquarters in the UK as well as to the market’s Finance and wider teams.


What you will enjoy doing to be successful in this role:


Accounting, Finance Representative

  • Work collaboratively with Centre of Expertise to ensure business transactions are correctly booked
  • Local contact for banks and authorities
  • Act as a consultant to the management on any accounting matters


IFRS Accounts

  • Responsible for the calculation of income taxes, deferred taxes, and tax accruals
  • Act as the main contact for auditors with regards to any audited closings, act as liaison between local market and Centre of Expertise for group audit activities


Statutory Accounts

  • Responsible for the preparation of the financial statements


Financial Analysis & Business Partnering

  • Support the analysis of the actual performance of the actual performance of the business
  • Support the budgeting and re-forecasting process


  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage own development proactively and demonstrate role model behaviour
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and ensure evolution of the Finance processes are aligned with business needs


What you will bring:


  • At least 3-5 years of Accounting/ Tax experience either within an internationally operating company or an audit company
  • Ideally further training as chartered accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter)
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS as well as German Statutory and Tax accounting rules
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial teams
  • Able to build effective working relationships across all hierarchical levels, ideally within a matrix-based structure
  • Excellent German language level is a must, business fluent English
  • Background in an international organisation, able to demonstrate cultural awareness and appreciation
