Reporting into the VP of Sustainability and Social Responsibility you will lead the development of a new team responsible for all aspects of ESG data management and control, sustainability modelling, performance reporting and technical sustainability disclosures. You will directly recruit and lead a new team with an ESG Data Analyst and Sustainability Reporting Lead.

We’re seeking a senior leader with advanced data, accounting and sustainability strategy expertise and someone who builds excellent stakeholder relationships. What you will be doing:  

This is a broad role, with global exposure and significant opportunities to make an impact in a number of high-profile areas in RS. Here’s a taster of what you’ll lead:

• Final-stage implementation of a new performance reporting system to achieve audit-grade ESG data, controls and reporting for 100s of ESG-related metrics across 100+ RS sites worldwide
• Quarterly, half-year and annual ESG data collection and performance reporting 
• New acquisitions - establish ESG reporting processes and compliance, integration of ESG data and reporting, rebaselining of targets 
• Assurance of ESG KPIs with sustinability assurance provider, including developing future model to achieve CSRD compliance
• Net zero modelling, target setting, performance tracking 
• TCFD climate financial modelling – extended to wider ESG metrics for CSRD and ISSB.
• Continuous improvement of carbon accounting methodologies, reporting, assurance and target setting for Scope 1, 2 and Scope 3 emissions, including SECR reporting
• CSRD environmental standard compliance and reporting
• CDP disclosure
• SBTi rebaselining and target setting 
• Sustainability Linked Loan target development and reporting 

What we are looking for from you:

• Deep experience in sustainability data, analytics, reporting and controls, data management systems for multi-site global organisation across a broad range of ESG and environmental KPIs
• Deep experience in sustainability and net zero strategy development, modelling, target setting, initiative development and embedding sustainability in cultural DNA and strategy in a global business 
• Experience in a financial accounting function, with a clear understanding of how this applies to ESG reporting.
• Strategic thinker with a high level of analytical skills, business acumen and commercial awareness. Clear understanding of how ESG strategy and data aids governance, strategy, risk and opportunity management, target setting and performance and stakeholder engagement  
• Strong and simple communicator - able to distil and convey complex ESG data and reports in a simple, easy to understand and actionable way
• Strong technical sustainability accounting skills (Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions) with in-depth understanding of existing and emerging sustainability reporting legislation and modelling techniques 
• Experience of ESG data systems and data flows/architecture - ideally using an external, web-based data management solution to manage multi-site, multi-KPI ESG reporting.
• Exceptional data and analytics skills - experience of handling and manipulating large datasets. Interpretation of data to identify anomalies and spot trends. Effective report design and construction.
